NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner-Vivid Sapphire Review, Swatches and EOTD

Hello everyone,

How you all doing? Finally, after days, I have got some time to blog. I hate being busy with what I don’t like; I just hate not getting time for what I actually love.

Anyway, today I am here with a review of NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner in Vivid Sapphire which I bought few weeks back. I am an eyeliner lover. You will hardly see me without eyeliner and kohl, though I feel like my ability to do my eyeliner the same on both eyes is reminiscent of lot of things in my life...close, but never quite right… ;)

So, let the review begin.… :D

NYX says:-

Packaging:-

The product comes in a small and slender color coded bottle with a long black cap which has a brush applicator. The long cap enable in a firm hold, is easy to control and the thin brush puts color exactly where you want it and also helps to create the desired line thickness.

Shade:-

An absolutely stunning sapphire blue. It doesn’t have any shimmers (thank God!) and settles in a “to die for” matte finish. This color can bring edgy glam to any look.

Texture and Finish:-

The texture is creamy and consistency is neither too thick nor runny, it’s just perfect. It dries in seconds settling into a completely matte finish, which I totally adore.

Pigmentation and Staying Power:-
Rich in color, it gives an opaque coverage in just one swipe. It is a truly long-lasting product that doesn't budge or smudge, crackle or chip, neither peel nor flake. Yes, it is water resistant too. But if you rub your eyes or rub the eyeliner with water even a little bit, this will definitely flake off.

SUMMING up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I liked about NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner-Vivid Sapphire:-
  • Stunning color.
  • Rich matte finish.
  • Smooth texture.
  • Easy to apply.
  • Long applicator with ergonomic grip for a steady sweep.
  • Insanely pigmented.
  • Stays almost whole day, (if not rubbed).
  • Doesn’t smudge or smear.
  • Doesn’t chip or flake.
  • Sleek packaging.
  • Easily available at all NYX outlets and online too.

What I didn’t like about NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner – Vivid Sapphire:-
  • The price. It hurts... Ouch!

Final Thoughts:-

I was pleasantly surprised with how bright it actually is. It’s a vivid blue, its matte, its waterproof, stays long, no smudge and no cracks. The long wand and brush allows me to achieve the perfect cat-eye flick, a graphic wing or even usual liner strokes. If you're looking for bright, bold, blue eyeliner, this is the one for you. Also NYX cosmetics offers several other shades to spice up your looks with color.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Kitten Heels Review, Swatches, LOTD and FOTD

Hello ladies,

I am sure you have heard about NYX lip creams, you must have. NYX lip cream is tagged as NYX’s most fan favorite product. And this time, NYX has launched another range of lip creams called Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick. I have been a fan of NYX lip creams and so I thought I would give these a try too. NYX has opened their own pretty booth in Mumbai on October and I got this on my first visit there. Reason of choosing this shade- It says Kitten and screams Red.

NYX says:-
Doll up your lips in plush and vibrant colour! The latest NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking polished matte finish. This waterproof lippie is infused with avocado oil and Vitamin E.

Price:-
Rs. 850.

Packaging:-
A cylindrical bottle with black cap which has a long doe-foot applicator attached inside. The doe foot applicator is of decent quality and applies the product easily and evenly.

Shade:-A super gorgeous red, something very classic.

Texture and Finish:-
The texture is very soft, very creamy and glides on lips like a dream. But compared to other lip creams I have used, this one takes a little more time to get dry. It takes around 4-5 minutes to settle into the gorgeous and comfortable matte finish. The matte formula is non-drying; it neither settles into fine lines nor does it accentuate dry patches.

Color payoff and Staying power:-
Insanely pigmented; it goes gorgeously opaque in single swipe. It for around 6-7 hours on me with snacks and drinks in between, but it doesn’t survive full meal. You have to watch out for that and remember that you have to reapply thereafter.

Summing up my Likes and Dislikes:-

What I like about NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Kitten Heels:-
  • Gorgeous shade of red.
  • Soft, creamy texture.
  • Lightweight formula.
  • Non-sticky; non-gloppy.
  • Keep lips pillowy.
  • Glides beautifully.
  • Avacado oil, olive oil and glycerine keeps your lips hydrated for long.
  • It doesn't bleed even if you don't use a lip liner.
  • Insanely pigmented.
  • A little is needed to get the desired shade, so the product would last long.
  • It covers pigmented lips beautifully.
  • Good staying power.
  • Nice travel friendly packaging.
  • Available at NYX outlets and online.

What I don’t like about NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Kitten Heels:
  • Some may find the long wand applicator difficult to use.

Final Thoughts:-
A beautiful red liquid lipstick with a beautiful matte finish. Glides on smoothly, lightweight and sets with a soft, velvety look, absolutely love it. Looks so classy. It doesn’t dry out your lips like most of the matte liquid lipsticks. I am in love with the color and texture so much that I don’t mind reapplying it when it fades after eating. I want to try their other shades as well.

Rating:-

So have you tried any of NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks?

Step by Step Tutorial: Autumn Burnt Red-Yellow-Black Eye makeup.. !!

Hey everyone,

Today I am back with a tutorial of a look which even I wasn't too sure of; I mean, I was so confused about it. I started creating it after getting inspired from autumn maple leaves, but seeing the final look, “fire smoky eyes” is what came to my mind.
Go through the tutorial and decide yourself please.. Also suggest me a name for the look. I am still confused L

EYES:-

For this look I did eyes first; so that if there are fallout, I can easily clean it off. Apply eye primer (if needed). Now take a yellow eye shadow and apply on the crease area blending towards the brow.
The next is a red eye shadow which I have applied on the lid and blending towards the crease. Then taking a black eye shadow, I just applied on the upper lash line and blended the edges. Right below the lower lash line, apply black eye shadow and line the lower lash line with kohl.
Groom your brows. Finally apply coats of your favorite mascara. You can apply false lashes too.

BASE:-
Clean off any fallout. Start by prepping your skin. Apply a moisturizer and also don’t forget your sunscreen if you are going out in the sun. Apply dots of your favorite liquid foundation all over the face and blend with a wet sponge. This will give a dewy finish. Apply corrector and concealer under your eyes and on any discoloration on the face.

CHEEKS:-
Apply a peachy blush on the cheeks and also your favorite highlighter on the high cheek bones and nose bridge. I skipped contour for this look.

LIPS:-
Bold red lips. Line your lips with liner and apply red lipstick. I used NYX Liquid Suede cream lipstick in Kitten Heels. ( read the review HERE)

So that’s it. Let me know how did I do? And also help me decide a name for this look ;)

Thank you all so much for all the love you have been pouring. Love you all…

Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Color Passion Fruit Review, Swatches, LOTD

Hello everyone,
Today I am going to review Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Color in Passion Fruit. This is a gift from my husband. I am a great fan of Bobbi Brown when it comes to makeup products and thus I was naturally elated to see this.

Bobbi Brown calls it "mistake-proof, no-mirror lipstick." Really? Let’s see if it really is so forgiving on us... ;)

Product Description:-
A lightweight formula for lips that delivers an effortless wash of color plus nourishing shine.

Price: -
2100 INR. (I am not sure if they have hiked the price.)

Packaging:-
A glossy black bullet case with a cap that has the Bobbi Brown logo printed on it. Simple and chic. The outer box has all the important details mentioned.

Color:-
Bobbi Brown describes the color as “a pink coral” and I cannot agree more. Very pretty and very summery; but it doesn’t mean you cannot wear this in winters. The shade goes well with both neutral and dramatic eyes.

Texture:-
Very soft and creamy. It glides smoothly on lips without tugging or pulling. It is super moisturising and imparts a nourishing shine. It is super wearable.

Color Payoff:-
It goes sheer on the first swatch, but can easily be layered to have a full coverage. Though it says sheer, but I was surprised to see beautiful coverage it provides.

Staying power:-
It stays for around 6+ hours without food in between. The shine however fades with time, but the color remains intact. With snacks in between, however, it won’t survive that long.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I LIKED about Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Color in Passion Fruit :-
  • Scrumptious color.
  • Creamy and soft texture.
  • Glides beautifully.
  • Imparts a shine which doesn’t look tacky.
  • Moisturising.
  • Buildable shade.
  • Doesn't look weird or thick on the lips when you build it up.
  • Colour lasts much longer than many other sheer, creamy lipsticks I have used.
  • Classy packaging.
What I DIDN’T LIKE about Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Color in Passion Fruit:-
  • Price. Ouch!

Final Thoughts:-
A pretty, wearable coral- pink color. If you like your lips with something more than just a regular, natural color, then this is a great color for you. It is also a great option for someone looking to ease themselves into the world of lipsticks. Creamy and smooth formula, provides the right amount of glossiness. Color payoff is much better and colour lasts much longer than many other sheer, creamy lipsticks I have used. So mistake-proof? To me yes. No-mirror lipstick? Yes, you can just swipe it off with ease without any worry of it bleeding or going overboard.

Creepy, Broken Doll Makeup Tutorial

$

When I was little my bhaiya used to tell me a story about a creepy, broken doll that haunted the people of the house at night, slowly pushing them in the mouth of death. Maybe she was possessed by the spirit of a deceased serial killer ;)

So today I’ll be doing a makeup tutorial of a spooky broken doll...

Hahahahahahaha.. Let the game begin…

  • To create doll skin, you can use any light foundation or concealer as base. The lighter, the better. (well! Don’t follow this when doing your normal makeup). However, I didn't have any lighter than my actual shade foundation, so I went with Kryolan Aqua color in 03 mixed with a bit of Kroylan white aqua color. You can use any color like poster color, water color, oil paint..but make sure your skin is happy with it. Apply the desired color all over your face and neck. If you are using anything cream/oil based, don’t forget to set it with powder of the same color.
  • To create a chiseled out doll face contour your cheekbones, accentuating your apples. Blend downwards to create a really sunken look. You can use your regular contour powder to get the look.
  • Now take the similar color around your eyes to add a tired, exhausted look. This would be the diffusing color.
  • Create sharp, structured jaw line using the same contour color.
  • Go on your neck with the same color adding accentuating your collarbone and also on the hollows of your throat.
  • Now take a charcoal black and add depth under eyes and on the crease area.
  • Now for creepy looking eyes I applied black gel liner on the lid and lower lash line. When applying the gel liner, just make sure the application is sharp and clean, so when you close your eyes you eyes will look completely hollowed out.
  • Apply dark brown eye shadows on eyebrows extending a little bit on the outer corners. You can block your eyebrows and draw thin dolly eyebrows if you want.
  • Time to get cracked. To create the cracks I used gel liner and drew random cracks on cheeks and forehead. I suck at doing polished cracks. To do a missing part you can draw a small triangular portion and color it black. You can wear big, black contact lenses too.
  • To finish off the look I just applied the same charcoal black eye shadow on the inner portion of my lips.

So that’s it. I had so much fun creating this look. If you recreate, don’t forget to tag me. Stay cool.. Have fun :)

Inglot Under Make-Up Base Review

When I started wearing makeup, I had no clue what face primers are. Yes, the only primer I knew was used as a preparatory coat on wood to prevent the absorption of subsequent layers of paint. Anyway, the primer I am talking about today is a little different and is used to make your makeup last longer and the application of makeup easier.

I am here with a review of such an under base primer which claims to absorb excess oil and create a long mattifying effect. It is Inglot Under Make-Up Base

Inglot says:-

Perfect hypoallergenic primer for all skin types and makeup finishes. Absorbs excess facial oil and scatters light, giving all skin types a matte look and silky smooth finish. Use to prolong the life of your foundation, turning your skin into the perfect blank canvas.
Hypoallergenic.

Packaging:-
The primer comes in a transparent squeeze tube with black screw cap. Sturdy and travel-friendly. I like squeezy tube as I can squeeze out just what I need rather than trying to manipulate a pump.

Current Price:-
1550 INR

Product and its Performance:-
This primer is a gel type product and has a very nice, silky, velvety-smooth texture.

It applies easily and evenly, absorbs pretty quickly and feels so beautiful on the skin. My skin never felt so smooth, thanks to the silicon in it. So if you are allergic to silicon, stay away from this; it can wreak havoc. I just need a small pea-sized amount (just about 1 cm of product) and that’s enough for the entire face and neck. It makes foundation application a dream. The makeup looks more natural and flawless when I wear this primer underneath. Seems like skin glows from within, which I absolutely adore. It keeps sweat away, making the makeup last longer. Yes, I wore this for a function even yesterday and my makeup looked fresh even after 8+ hours.
I used it as eye primer too and it worked so well.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I Liked about Inglot Under Make-Up Base :-
  • A small amount is needed.
  • Doesn’t feel heavy or sticky.
  • Absorbs quickly.
  • Has a velvety-smooth texture.
  • Skin feels so smooth and beautiful.
  • Allows your foundation to glide easily and seamlessly.
  • Makeup looks fresh even after hours of application.
  • I use it as an eye primer too, and it works brilliantly.
  • Paraben free.
  • Cruelty free.
  • Keeps skin moisturized.
  • Travel friendly packaging.
  • Easily available at all Inglot stores worldwide.
What I don’t like about Inglot Under Make-Up Base:-
  • Duh! Silicon (but it’s the silicon that makes all the difference in this case)
  • Some may find this pricey.

FinalThoughts:-
Well, I really like the texture of this primer and it leaves my skin so smooth, making it easy to apply foundation. I was skeptical at first, but now I am highly impressed, satisfied with the results and happy that I didn't pour money down the drain.

Diwali / Indian Festive Makeup Tutorial

Hello everyone,

Diwali is almost here, it’s knocking on the door. Time to light up the house and life, time to celebrate with family and friends, time to gorge on delicious food and time to do a fun Diwali special tutorial for you all. I have done gold smoky eyes to complement my Diwali outfit. I am kind of obsessed with golden eye shadow and I feel that no Indian festive makeup is complete without a touch of gold on eyes.

So here goes my look... Hope you like it..

EYES:-

(Please ignore the redness.. I poked my eyes with the mascara wand..)

For this look I did eyes first; so that if there is fallout, I can easily clean off. Groom your brows. Apply eye primer (if needed). Apply golden eye shadow on inner to the middle of lid concentrating more on the center.  Now take a black eye shadow and pat on the outer corner. Start blending; go over the crease following the crease line to the inner corner of eye.  Take a brown eye shadow and blend on the crease as the transition shade. Apply a champagne colored eye shadow on brow bone to highlight. Line your waterline with kohl. Taking gel liner on a smudge brush, go on the outer and inner lower lash line; leave the center blank. On the center apply the same golden eye shadow. Curl lashes and apply two coats of mascara. You can apply false lashes too. I couldn't find my eye lash glue so I had to skip applying false lashes.…

BASE:-
Clean off any fallout.

CHEEKS:-
Contour and apply a peachy blush on the cheeks and also your favorite highlighter on the high cheek bones and nose bridge.

LIPS:-
Matte red lips. Line your lips with liner and apply red lipstick. I used Maybelline Lip Gradation in Red 2.

Let me know what you feel about this look. Wishing you all a very happy Diwali in advance. May every aspect of your life become as luminous and exciting as the lights flickering in the festival of lights. May the festival of lights be the harbinger of joy and prosperity. Take care, be safe and have lots of fun..

Bad Beti Makeup Tutorial: Skull face/ Skeleton mouth Tutorial

Bad Beti is the new Instagram craze that is taking the internet by storm. Desi women are channeling their inner bad-beti for some Halloween inspo.

A concept originally created by Hatecopy and Babbu the painter, Bad Beti in their words is- “From shaadi ka pressure to disappointing our folks with our career choice, she's got it all covered. We created a piece called #badbeti to promote for our new show and handed it over to MUA Jasmine Lakhesar to bring that look to life. And of course we forgot it was Halloween but what a nice coincidence! Lets keep sharing and creating wonderful work together.”

I created this look for mere fun, without the intention of hurting anyone. I didn't really have any plan to do a tutorial of this look. But requests for a tutorial kept pouring in and so here it is, a simple tutorial of Bad Beti Skeleton Makeup.

So all the bad beti in the house, it is time to raise your hands and your makeup game ;)

  • Start by prepping your skin. Clean your face and apply moisturizer. Apply dots of your favorite foundation all over the face and blend well. Apply corrector and concealer under your eyes and on any discoloration on the face.
  • Apply concealer on the lips too.
  • Powder face and lips to set the creamy base.
  • To do the skeleton mouth I have used a black smudgy pencil and Kryolan white aqua color. It is better to use a creamy white color because it is easy to blend, but unfortunately I didn’t have one. With the black pencil draw a line starting from the corner of the lip till the hollows of cheeks, on both the sides. Now apply lines of black pencil vertically. Draw teeth like shape with the white color in between the lines. Now with a small smudge brush smudge the lines filling in the hollows. Set set the smudgy kohl with black eye shadow.
  • Now draw the hollow of the nose with a black smudgy pencil and then set it with black eye shadow.
  • For eyes I went with black eye shadow on the lid taking them down towards the nose bridge. I applied gold eye shadow on the center of the lid and also on the lower lash line to add a glamorous touch.
  • For added effect, you can draw tears rolling down, third eye, chiseled cheekbone, etc.

  • Wear your favorite piece of jewelry and you are done J

It is pretty simple and so much fun to do. Let me know if you like it or not..see you on my next post.. Have a happy and safe Diwali.. :)

DIWALI 2016: What All Our Favorite Bollywood Actresses Wore

$

Diwali is all about celebration and decking up in the best of clothes. Talking about the celebrities, this Diwali was all about the pomp and show.

While I was a layabout that day, spending the whole day in pajamas at my small rented apartment in Mumbai, missing home, watching movies, listening to music, reading books and of course surfing the net drooling over the gorgeous dresses our Bollywood celebs wore. Time to spruce up our wardrobe with some styling and grooming tips.

Aishwarya Rai:-
Aishwarya Rai was spotted in a stunning white lehenga saree by ace designer Manish Malhotra.

Sonam Kapoor:-
When it comes to dressing up, be it for international events or Indian festivals, Sonam Kapoor hardly fails to impress me. This Diwali, Anil Kapoor’s ladli decided to twirl about in a voluminous gold and black Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla anarkali. With the big earrings, juttti, gajra and middle-parted hair she looked divine.

Priyanka Chopra:-
How can we miss the Desi girl? She posted her look on Instagram wearing a beautiful white linen saree which was even more beautifully paired with a simple golden blouse.

Anushka Sharma:-
She spent the day with family. She wore a simple traditional white chikan suit. Sans makeup, the glow on her face was impeccable.

Sonakshi Sinha:-
I liked both the looks sported by Sonakshi Sinha on the occasion of Diwali, one was a printed crop top-lehenga by Arpita Mehta and another one was a lime green outfit by Seema Khan. Bling was my Maheep Kapoor.

Malaika Arora:-
This white Tarun Tahiliani outfit, paired with matching jewels, looks divine on Maila Arora. Don’t you agree? Can stop drooling over her oxblood lip color.

Jacqueline Fernandez:-
Draped in a gorgeous Raw Mango “Mysore” Varanasi silk saree Jaqueline Frenandez went totally desi this Diwali. Heavy-duty jewelry, gajra and bindi completed her look. She twinned with her mom to give us some major Diwali goals. She was also spotted wearing a simple pink suit in the morning Rangoli session.

Parineeti Chopra:-
I still cant stop whinning about Parineeti Chopra’s weighloss. No, its not that she doesn’t look wow now, but she looked so prettier before. Anyway, this Diwali she went with an Arpita Mehta outfit, flashing her taut midriff in the yellow embroidered blouse that she complemented with the simple white lehenga and a peachy hued cape.

Bipasha Basu:-
She was spotted in a black Sabyasachi saree at the Bachhan Diwali bash and I totally loved her look. She kept her accessory, makeup and hair details minimal and everything minimal worked together to create this fantastic, pleasing look. I adore how she still never forgets to wear her Sankha-pola when decking up for any festivals and occassions.

Vidya Balan:-
She chose to stick to her guns this Diwali and she looked gorgeous as ever. She picked up voluminous blue anarkali with a handprinted Kalamkari and Kantha-stich dupatta. Her outfit was designed by Gaurang Shah and her jewelry were by Arnab Design. The messy side-braid added edge to her look.

Dia Mirza:-
Do boho festive like Diya Mirza. The ever gorgeous lady picked up an Anita Dongre outfit for the festive night. Really loved the crop top and skirt combo..and of course the color of the outfit.

Sophie Choudhury:-
She was spotted in a chocolate and dark plum colored Manish Malhotra creation complemented by Anmol jewellery.

Nargis Fakri:-
She looked stunning in the Anita Dongre outfit. Love the color and it looked really nice on the actress.

Aditi Rao Hyadri:-
Plain silk lehengas are ruling the fashion world and Aditi looked was spotted in such a super gorgeous red silk lehenga by Raw Mango. Her jewelry is from Amrapali. However I feel her makeup and hair style are killing the beauty of the outfit.

How did you spend your Diwali? Do share your looks with us. Would love to see..

INCOLOR as a brand came to my notice when I was crazily looking for and buying lip creams online. Yes, there was a phase when I was totally crazy about lip creams and wanted to try at least one from every brand of lip cream available in Indian market. I had bought all the shades of INCOLOR lip cream (See the swatches and review HERE) and I was pretty much impressed with the quality they offered at such a low price tag. From then I have tried few more products from this brand and this eye liner is one of them. So reviewing today INCOLOR No Limits Beauty Hi-Tech Eyeliner Pen in Denim Blue.

Packaging:-
It looks and feels exactly like a sketch pen. It is light and easy to control. It allows me to create the desired line thickness like a dream. You use the very tip of the applicator for a thin line, or angle it on its side for a thicker effect. It glides inside my pouch/pocket with ease.

Price:-
I got it for 180 INR.
There are no prices mentioned on the product and the sellers increase-decrease them as per their wish and demand.

Availability:-
I got it from the New Beauty Center, Khar. I have spotted them at few other cosmetic stores as well.

Shade and Texture:-
A stunning royal blue liner. Love the smooth flow of ink. It goes even and with ease. However, it takes a little more time to set compared to similar products I have used. It settles in a glossy finish.

Love the felt tip applicator.

Color Payoff and Staying Power:-
It is beautifully pigmented and one swipe gives a beautiful color pay off. However with the second coat, the color intensifies and looks better. It stays for 10+ hours without fading or flaking. It will smudge a little only if you vigorously rub your eyes, otherwise, it will not fade or fly around your eyes.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I liked about Incolor No Limits Beauty Hi-Tech Eyeliner Pen:-
  • Beautiful color.
  • Glossy finish, but is very wearable and doesn’t look odd at all.
  • Felt tip applicator for perfect application.
  • Smooth texture.
  • Easy to apply.
  • Well pigmented.
  • Stays almost for the whole day, (if not rubbed).
  • Doesn’t smudge or smear.
  • Doesn’t chip or flake.
  • Sleek packaging.
  • Dirt cheap.

What I didn’t like about Incolor No Limits Beauty Hi-Tech Eyeliner Pen:-
  • Availability.

Final Thoughts:-
I am too impressed with this product. Beautiful shade, smooth texture, applies easily, well pigmented, long staying and dirt cheap, what else can I expect?! Only disappointment is that INCOLOR products aren't easily available.

Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter Review, Swatches and FOTD

Hello everyone,

Today I’ll be reviewing one of Benefit Cosmetic’s cult favorite products- High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter.

A makeup technique that I always wanted to learn was contouring and highlighting. While highlighting is easy to nail, I still struggle with contouring. Argghhh…
I love how a good highlighter can give you a radiant glow.

So let us get back into today’s topic and into the nitty-gritty details of Benefit High Beam face highlighter

Benefit Cosmetics says:-
Supermodel in a bottle!
Our liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a dewy glow. Use as a spot highlighter over makeup or wear under complexion products for subtle luminescence. Radiant look Long-lasting Day or night gorgeous.

Packaging:-
So adorable. It comes in a little nail polish like bottle. It has a brush applicator, just the way nail polish bottles have. You can apply dots with the brush and then blend it with fingers, sponge or a clean brush.

Price and Availability:-
I purchased it from Sephora for INR 2100.
Available at all Sephora outlets across the country. There are hundreds of sellers on Facebook and Instagram who can arrange one for you. But beware of fake products.

Shade and Texture:-
It is a satiny champagne pink highlighter with finely milled shimmers. I am NW25 and it works well on me; whereas my cousin, who is NC42, this suits her beautifully too. The shimmers are so fine; they disappear into the skin without making you look like a disco ball. But you will definitely have to keep the quantity in mind. The texture is beautiful, non-oily. Love the soft, natural afterglow this pink shimmering lotion adds.

Pigmentation and Staying Power:-
You don't need a whole lot of this. I would recommend starting off small and adding if you need some more. The glow stays for hours; almost for the entire day.

How I use it:-
I generally use it as a spot highlighter over makeup. After foundation, using the brush I dot it on my high points and then blend with fingers. Sometimes I wear it underneath makeup for subtle luminescence as well.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I LIKE about High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter:-
  • An ethereal pink liquid highlighter
  • Gives an angelic sheen.
  • Creates a radiantly dewy complexion.
  • Soft, natural.
  • Beautiful texture.
  • Blends effortlessly.
  • Sets quickly.
  • Shimmers don’t make you look like a disco ball.
  • Small amount is needed, so one bottle will last really long.
  • The glow remains for hours and hours.
  • Works well on a varied skin tone.

What I Don’t like about High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter:-
  • Price.
  • Availability in India.

Final Thoughts:-
Benefit Cosmetics has some really nice products. I have used their BeneTint and They’re real mascara (read the review HERE) before.

This is my first liquid highlighter and I was really excited to try this out after hearing so many great reviews. After using this for months, I can say that my money didn't go down the drain. After application you can immediately see how radiant your face looks. It keeps my skin looking fresh and dewy the whole day. Just love it. So if you are looking for a nice natural highlighter and if the price tag is not an issue, they you can definitely go for this. J

Unreserved Fate of Reservation

$
0
0
It is not a new topic. It’s been hot and cold simultaneously, throughout years. Reservation had been a boon to the then new born India. Maybe we clearly know how the society was divided in classes since history. Discrimination on the basis of castes and classes had followed next. Victims had to go through terrible times. The then upper classes had the privilege to mould the culture as they wished; as to their benefits, which worsened the condition of ‘lower castes’.

Time of change had to visit the unfortunate soul of the country. And various reformers contributed the best they could offer, over decades, and centuries. Which finally resulted in our constitution. And ‘reservation’ was born. To eradicate the evil of the system of classes and castes, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar had to overcome countless obstacles; and finally took a breath of relief when MK Gandhi had agreed with his opinion about reserving facilities, which was more than just a necessity at that time.
But society has changed all this time. In every respect. India is a developing country now, of whose power, many developed nations are beware of. Though no one can deny that poverty, corruption and overpopulation are other fields in which our country isn’t able to get off the competition. People who are enlisted as top most successful people in world; well we have them living in this very country. Also the sad statistics of corruption, poverty and other evils like, gender inequality; they are quiet high.

Now the scene of reservation has changed since its birth. There are regions in the country where, the discrimination on the basis of caste is still prevalent hence proving, that just the imposing of laws cannot help the condition. And then, there are regions, where in absence of discrimination, the general caste: that is not privileged as per ‘reservation’ law; these people are struggling to maintain their standard of life. Whereas, those under the umbrella of this rule, have been living in abundance since at least last generation; though at an average, two generations who are basking in the now ‘unnecessary’ benefits.

Now it is not a question of castes; which can totally be eradicated once our mentality agrees to do it; rather than, totally depending upon the laws even at this age. Rather, it is time to change our culture: isn’t it important and natural anyhow to change and update our cultures at ages? Its been so in history too. The problem that should busy all our governments is: poverty, corruption and all that follows them. Its is born of the condition when the power is just in few hands. Along with that, vote bank! Yes, that has kept the government busy for just too long a time; so long, that our governing bodies are just using caste and religion for their votes, for power. Now, that is supposed to be worked upon. They should focus on their citizens in general, just the facilities they are provided should be the label that could help the government decide what and how they can help the evils that the country is fighting against.

Obviously they have enough brain power to actually take steps out of their comfort zone of vote bank. Of fear of losing power. Just for the greater good, lets hope, this change will come soon; where people will not be discriminated in basis of something that is supposed to be erased from all books and minds. And it will be all possible, when the other prevalent issues are worked upon. As a citizen, I will try my part to ensure that I can help as much as I can. And I will continue to dream.

The Blushing Bride: Madhumita Sarkar

Hello everyone,

Finally after months (feels like ages) I am back with my “Blushing Brides” and today with me I have a super pretty lady from the City of Joy, Madhumita Sarkar

She got married on 29th January this year and today she is here to share her wedding moments with us.

How did you guys meet?

“It was July 2009. Our 1st meeting was really unpredictable. He came along with a friend of mine, we met at South City,we three watched Ice Age then we chatted for long at CCD out there and my friend left us together. Our journey began with a cup of Irish Cafe. But strange enough we both were unaware of this entire plot planned by our common friend.”

So how long did you get to plan your entire wedding?
“We planned everything regarding our wedding very thoroughly. Almost 2 years.”

Tell us something about where you got your outfits and accessories, both wedding and reception?

“We were very particular about our wedding card, marriage locations, our outfit make up, food and tottyo. We made personalized cards, personalized tottyo suchi. Both my benarasi saris were from Adi Mohini Mohan Kanjilal. Shoes from Catwalk, my botua from new market. My jewellery from Senco Gold& costume jewellery from SHREEJI COLLECTION and our very own gariahat.”

Where did you get your makeup and hair done?

“My makeup & hair in both the days were done by Puja Achari. She did everything very well. She made me look simple yet gorgeous. I just loved my look.”

Tell us something about your photographer?

“My entire wedding was covered by Addwitiya Creation. Bishnu Da, Arijit & all the photographers were excellent. They clicked numerous candid and other photos and the best part was they never forced me to give pose and to click photos as per their wish.”

Any special moment you want to share with us?
“I believe my wedding was the best. For God's grace everything went good.

Few funny moments- While receiving the bridegroom we were supposed to give kol charani to mother-in-law. This is just a ritual- the bridegroom will sit on the lap of his mother and the bride's family offers something to take him away from his mother. But everybody forgot that  & left it at our home. Again my bhabi went home to collect the same. On the other hand the bridegroom & his entire family was ready and waiting for us to receive them. Our plan was to do the registry after sidur dan as I didn’t want Debojyoti to see me before subho dristi. But it was for our mistake everything was getting delayed while our registrar has already reached our marriage location .It was a funny situation and i was stubborn that i will not do the registry at first. Then it was decided by my brother that the registry will be done before but separately. I was in 1st floor & my husband was in roof, no one saw each other. & we got legally married.

The most boring part of a marriage is the ritual with pandit. We have seen the pandits taking hours & hours & hours uttering mantras and so on. My panditji was super cool. He performed the entire ritual beautifully without harassing anybody and within an hour.”

Any advice you want to all the readers out there?
“Marriage-the most special event .We try to make it best as much we can afford. If you plan properly then lots of thing can done beautifully under affordable budget. My advice would be..try to keep few things proper. Firstly food- Be sure the food, whatever menu it may be less or enormous, the quality, quantity must be good & food must be served hot. Guest will forget everything but the food & the taste will linger forever. Pet khush toh sab khush https://ci4.googleusercontent.com/proxy/HFiVgap4fkKwtg63AdjkCZdIZG6l6yIzsRsU8qNMpdNjU_c5vC_CIwmwT4dfUDR0-rJ3Zd4w3fRBA7jwClGKabkRoqcZvI-6YoUyLPF7B-IhGmAK=s0-d-e1-ft#https://www.facebook.com/images/emoji.php/v5/ufb/1/16/263a.png.
Secondly for the bride & groom- Be sure about makeup artist & photographer. Photos will stay forever, so please choose a good cameraman & for good clicks we need to look good so choose your MUA properly.”

DeckandDine says:-

Madhumita is one of the prettiest and cutest brides I have ever seen. I loved her whole look; elegant, flamboyant and very “Bong”. Her makeup was perfect and enhanced her features. The combination of red Benarasi and gold jewellery can never go wrong on a Bengali wedding. She was the quintessential Bengali bride and looked beautiful.
Thank you Madhumita for letting us feature your journey here.

You both look great together. May God pour all his warmth and care on your lovely life ahead. :)

NYX Rouge Cream Blush Red Cheeks Review, Swatches & FOTD

Hello everyone,
So autumn is here and if autumn comes can winter be far behind?! Absolutely not!! Winter means fuzzy socks, over-sized sweater, bold lips and cream blushes for dolly cheeks. Yes, winter is a time when you can take out your favorite cream blushes and can also experiment with colors.
So today I am here with a review on a blush that is my winter favorite; it is NYX Cream Blush in Red Cheeks.

I have always wanted to try NYX cream blushers, because they have carved a niche of their own in the world of cream blushers. As to why I chose this shade, it is still a mystery.
So without blabbering any further, lets jump into the review…

NYXsays:-
“More delicious than peaches and cream? We like to think so. Our velvety smooth mineral Rouge Cream Blush offers a sheer wash of radiant color. The glorious payoff is dewy, sultry and long-lasting. Available in cream blush 12 shades.”

Packaging:-
The blush comes housed in a black pot with a transparent lid. The transparent lid helps in detecting the shades from outside.

Shade:-
Red Cheeks looks ravishing, stunning and a very scary pinkish red on the pan; but on my cheeks this looks a very pretty dolly pink. I agree that it looks scary to be worn as a blush; but once you blend it well, it gives gorgeous flush of color to the cheeks.

Texture:-
It has an amazing formula. The texture is creamy, soft and blends flawlessly for a natural finish without settling on pores or lines. It gets absorbed fast and doesn’t result in greasy looking cheeks. If you have oily skin, you can always dust some powder after applying the blush.

Pigmentation:-
This is the most pigmented blush I have ever come across. It is super intense and I need the smallest dot possible. Use a stippling brush for best results; but you can always use your fingers to dab and blend. Be careful with the quantity, because chance of going overboard is quite high.

Staying Power:-
Color lasts at least 8 hours on me. It'll fade just a bit, but you can still see a good bit of color.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I Like about NYX Cream rouge Blush in Red Cheeks:
  • Stunning shade that perks up my face.
  • Soft, creamy texture.
  • Light-weighed.
  • Blends seamlessly.
  • Doesn’t make cheeks look greasy.
  • Insanely pigmented.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • Stays all day.
  • Doesn’t settle on pores or lines.
  • No irritations, no break outs.
  • Travel friendly packaging.

What I don’t like about NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Red Cheeks:
  • The packaging. I hate dipping my fingers in the blush.
  • It’s easy to go overboard with this shade
  • Availability in India.

Final Thoughts:-

I love this blush. It gives a dewy look, is soft textured, light weighed, pigmented and long staying. I love cream blushes that are easy to use and looks beautiful, and this is undoubtedly one of such blushes. You just have to keep in mind the amount you are using.

New Dove Rich Moisture Nourishing Baby Lotion Review

Hello everyone,

Today I am here with a review of the newly launched Dove Baby Rich Moisture Nourishing Baby Lotion. Dove launched their baby range sometime last month. My bhaiya got two bottles, one for my 2 year old niece and one obviously for me. He knows how much I love Dove products. :D

So let’s get into the details…
Claims and Ingredients:-

Packaging:-
A super adorable and cute white colored plastic bottle with a sturdy blue flip-top cap; easy to use, travel friendly and handy.

Product Description:-
The lotion is white in color and the consistency is on the thicker side. It has an amazing fragrance and absorbs wonderfully into the skin.

Performance:-

How it fared on my 2 year old niece:-

My bhabi applies the lotion on her after bath. It keeps her already soft skin supple for almost the whole day. There is no need to reapply; just once a day and my little baby is ready to go. It didn’t irritate her baby skin and the results were impressive.

How it fared on 26 year old Madhubani:-
There are seldom any products that can keep my skin moisturized for an entire day. I apply this before going to office early in the morning (actually dawn would be the right word) and it keeps my skin moisturized for about 7 hours, which is pretty good. Please note that I have dry skin and have to stay inside AC rooms for almost the entire day. Also this lotion is intended for babies and not adults that are exposed to excessive heat, wind and polluted air. When at home, it keeps my skin hydrated and scratch-proof for a longer amount of time. I reapply it before going to bed, not because my skin craves for moisture, but just because I love the feel and smell of it.

Summing up my LIKES and DISLIKES:-

What I LIKED about :-
  • Very moisturizing.
  • Keeps skin hydrated for hours.
  • Skin feels smooth, soft and supple
  • Good for both mamma and baby.
  • Instantly cures dry patches
  • Very mild.
  • Non greasy.
  • Fast absorbing.
  • Amazing fragrance.
  • Require very little of this lotion at a time.
  • Tested by pediatricians and dermatologists.
  • Hypoallergic
  • Ph Neutral.
  •  Inexpensive.
  • Easily available.
  • Handy and travel friendly.

What I Don’t LIKE about:-
  • Nothing.

Final Thoughts:-
Like all Dove products, I loved this too. It deeply moisturizes skin without feeling greasy. But I am not sure whether I’ll use this on my baby. My mother never used any cream/lotion, body wash on me till I was 7-8 years. It was always some homemade thing. Even now, I always prefer homemade products when it comes to skincare. I still don’t use a face wash; I still go to the kitchen to look for the ingredients to make my scrub or face pack. I am a bit skeptical when it comes to over-the-counter products and I know I’ll be skeptical when using them on my baby. But that’s totally my own view and choice. I have seen people using this on their babies and it works totally fine without causing any harm to the skin. If you are using this on a newborn baby, I would recommend doing a patch test first.

In a nutshell, I am satisfied with this product and won't mind repurchasing. Have you tried Dove Baby Rich Moisture Nourishing Baby Lotion? Also let us know which is your favorite baby lotion.. :)

LUX Golden Rose Awards 2016: Who Wore What

The award season has already started, reminding us that the end of the year is near. The first award show of the season, the LUX Golden Rose Awards took place on the night of 12th November at the Reliance Studios. The event celebrated Bollywood’s beautiful women and their unparalleled contribution to India Cinema. For this event, our Bollywood divas, like always, tried to put their best fashion foot forward. So lets see who actually could wow us and who couldn't.

Sharmila Tagore:-
The ever vivacious lady was a picture of elegance at the award show. She was spotted in a beige Suneet Varma sari and Amrapali jewellery.

Kareena Kapoor:-
Lately, she has been giving the moms-to-be some major fashion goals with her maternity style. She wore a Gauri and Nainika gown complemented with a pair of nude thong sandals. Her jewelry were from Jet Gems. Makeup and Hair were kept simple.  She looked beautiful and absolutely hawt. :D

Madhuri Dixit:-
The evergreen actress chose to stun us in a stunning beaded black gown by Dolly J. Wavy hair, minimal makeup, diamond earrings and million dollar smile completed her look.

Deepika Padukone:-
She hardly fails to wow me. The leggy lass of Bollywood flaunted her toned legs in the metallic Ralph & Russo gown that featured a thigh-high slit. Strappy metallic sandals, couple of rings, sleek center-parted do and red lips finished out her look with class. When minimal do the talking.

Anushka Sharma:-
Anushka was photographed wearing a Shehlaa outfit. A pair of matching ankle-strap sandals and jewelry from Nirav Modi rounded off her look for the evening.

Katrina Kaif:-
Katrina picked up an eye-catching gown by Lebanese designer, Ziad Nakad. I am kind of bored of her looks, especially makeup and hair. She hardly experiments off screen; she hardly comes out of her box.

Sridevi:-
The beauty picked up a MJ Couture By Mirna Jawhari gown. Her jewelry were from Jet Gems.

Aditi Rao Hyadri:-
She chose to wear a pastel Gaurav Gupta gown. A wispy updo and a pop of lip color is all that the actor needed to round out the look. Pretty simple and simply pretty.

Malaika Arora:-
After giving back to back classy, polished looks, she decided to go for a sexy, rustic look this time. She chose a Monisha Jaising sequin gown featuring a slit, complemented with layered leather necklaces, gold Zanotti sandals and dramatic smoky eyes.

Jacqueline Frenandez:-
She was spotted in a beaded Paulo Sebastian gown. I feel she could have added a pop of color to her outfit. Maybe a different colored clutch or a pop of lipstick..

Illeana D’cruz:-
Remember a game we used to play during our childhood days, the game where we were asked to run and touch a certain color before we were hit out? Seeing Illeana, I so wish she was there during our playtime. To me, the riot of colors isn’t really working on her. The printed dress is by Aiisha Ramadan. Considering her previous appearances, this look is a turn off.

Taapsee Pannu:-
She attended the show wearing a Zara Umrigar gown. I wish she could have gone with something other than this underwhelming gown.

So who do you think stole the show at Lux Golden Rose Awards 2016 ? Drop in your comments below!

Restaurant Review: The Oriental Hub

Hello readers/ friends,

When you are surrounded by delicious food, you can hardly walk away from the temptation of trying it. Me…well I don’t try to walk away. Why waste the effort?!! I know I won’t succeed, especially when I am in company of total foodies. One such evening we decided to have an oriental dinner, and trust me, we had good food.

The Oriental Hub calls itself a PAN ASIAN eatery and quiet rightly so. It is a pretty huge place at a strategic location 2 minutes from Vashi railway station and bang opposite Inorbit mall. The decor is pretty chic, not excessive.

This is the menu "card" ..

Their menu covers all the major Asian cuisines in a suave manner. The staffs were quick and friendly. And most importantly, the food was fresh.

We started off with CHICKEN SUIMAI. It was very juicy and full of flavor. The meat tasted fresh and the dumpling was cooked enough to keep all the juices intact. What I liked the most was that the flour wrap tore up evenly, it did not break, which indicates that the dumpling was freshly prepared.

For our main course we had two varieties of chicken and some seafood Phai Thai and Wok Tossed Rice to go along.

Kung Pao Chicken : The flavors were well balanced, the chilli had a very nice flavor and the chicken cubes were prepared to perfection. They were juicy and the flavours had permeated well enough. Although it lacked SiChuan peppercorns which are a key ingredient, the dish still carried itself pretty well.

PhadThaiNowadays premixed flavours and seasonings are very common, and this can easily lend a near authentic flavour to any dish. However, for any Thai Flavored Noodle, you have to get your noodle right, and they did. The noodle seemed from a good maker and it was cooked to perfection.

I do have a complain regarding the dish though, and it doesn’t concern the flavor or the noodle, it was rather the seafood presentation. Mumbai has an abundance of sea food; they could have avoided batter frying everything from the squid to the fish. Otherwise, it was good.

Clay Pot ChickenI am not sure whether they actually cooked this in a clay pot but the flavours were earthy for sure. I won’t mention the chicken cubes again, they were good. The point that made this dish stand out was the amazing combo of tender bamboo shoots and oyster sauce, although it had a little less chilly than what I’d appreciate.

Wok Tossed Rice: With burnt garlic, coriander, spring onions, capsicum and ground black pepper, the rice was bang on. We went for the non-veg (egg) version; the rice was soft, and the combination of eggs and other ingredients lend a fulfilling taste to it.
To finish off, we had some caramel custard. This too was well executed. The custard was fluffy and the caramel was smooth. A big thumbs up.

Overall, it was a nice meal. The food was fresh and sumptuous, the flavors were balanced and the ingredients were fresh. I do recommend this to my friends. I would give it a 4 out of 5.

See you later, keep munching!!

5 Unusual and Different Ways to Wear a Saree

Six yards of sheer elegance and sensuality, saree is absolute love. We all know how to wear the saree in usual, formal style. Yeah..!! I mean "we know" doesn't mean "we can" :P

But it’s always  great to spice up looks. Isn't? Adding some interesting twists to your saree-draping style can amp up your look while still being comfy; and you can achieve these looks without spending too much time, effort and money.
With onset of wedding season, we bring you 5 different ways by which you can drape your sari; timeless classic Indian sarees in contemporary styles. So all the ladies, it is time to dress up and come up in style.
Also introducing the very pretty Koeli Moulik on our blog today. Can't thank her enough for being my model :)

Saree with Jeans:-
Saree with Jeans? You must be thinking that I have gone mad. But trust me, it looks uber cool and chic. This is a combination I absolutely love. It is an eclectic mixture of traditional and contemporary style. Just wear your favorite pair of blouse and jeans. Now take the inner end of the saree and make around 7-8 pleats. Now tuck the pleated part in the center. Tuck the part of the flowing saree on your left. Pick the other end of the saree and make pallu pleats. Now from behind, take it all the way to your right, then to your front and place it over the left shoulder, just the way you would normally do. Pin the pallu. Note that the number of pleats you have tucked in depends on the length of the pallu you want to flaunt. The shorter the pallu, the more are the number of pleats and vice versa.

Dhoti style Saree:-
A style made famous by Sonam Kapoor, this looks beautiful when worn the right way. Wear blouse and stockings. Now drape the sari around your waist leaving about 1.5 meters to the non pallu end. Pin the two sections on the middle keeping the right section over the left. Take the pallu from your left, going around your back to your right and then to front tossing it over your left shoulder. Pin the pleats. Do the pallu pleats on the back portion as well. Secure with pins if necessary. The pleats should be visible on the hips. Pin the part on the centre with the saree. Now take the inner 1.5m part and pleat the end (just the way you do on pallu). Secure with pin. Now take it in between your legs and tuck into the back. Keep all the pleats neat and crisp. It sounds a bit complicated, but is actually pretty easy to do.

Saree with Kurti:-
This is one of my current favorites. Pair your saree with a complementing kurti, wear some junk jewelry and you are ready for the party. Go for printed kurtis if your saree is plain and simple and vice versa. Just make sure the kurti is decently fitted.

Saree with Belt:-
Belts
add dimension and shape to your dresses. Do you know you can wear belts with sarees too? By wearing a saree and then a belt wrapped around your waist, you will look fabulous, different and garner oodles of compliments.

The pagari way:-
The pagari or the traditional Indian turban goes pretty well with our 9yards. First tie the pagri on your end. I have used a dupatta here. Hold one end of the dupatta in your mouth and start twisting it. Now wrap it around your head so that it covers your head and upper part of the ear. Now tuck both the ends. You can pull out 1-2 strands of hair if you want. As for the saree I wear it the formal way, but instead of taking the pallu back, I keep it flowing it the front like dupatta.

So that’s it. These are my favorite ways of draping saree. I am experimenting with a few more and will come up with those soon.
Let me know which one you liked the most. Is there any other way of saree draping which you want to share? Shoot at madhu.9615@gmail.com

Tel Koi/ Climbing Perch Curry: Recipe with Step by Step pictures

Hello everyone,
It has been a really long time since I have posted a recipe on the blog. Food covers a major part of my life and a major part of that part is occupied by FISH. Bengalis (most of them) and fish are intertwined inextricably. So today I am here with one of my favorite fish recipes- Tel Koi.

Koi fish or the climbing perch is an utterly tasty fish mainly found in South-east Asia. Tel Koi is one of the best known Bengali delicacies, a rich curry of koi cooked in mustard oil.
Here is the recipe..

Ingredients:-
  • Koi fish 4 pieces
  • 2-3 tsp curd
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½-1 tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder (more if you like it hotter)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1bay leaf
  • 2-3 Dry red chili
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 5-6 tbsp of mustard oil

Procedure:-
Marinate the cleaned and washed fish with turmeric and salt. Keep aside for at least 15 minutes.

Now heat mustard oil in a pan and start frying the fishes. Once they are done, remove the fried fishes from heat and keep aside.

To the oil add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds stop splattering, add dry red chilies and bay leaf. Add the ginger paste, salt, sugar, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, turmeric and chopped tomatoes

Pour a little water and stir in the masala. Continue stirring until the oil separates.
Beat the curd with a pinch of besan. Adding besan to curd will prevent it from breaking up. Add it to the masala.
Stir and add a quarter cup of water.
Add the fried fish.
Once the gravy thickens, add sliced green chilies and coriander leaves.

You may add some extra mustard oil at this point as well. Turn off the flame and cover for a minute or two.
This completes Tel Koi. Serve with hot steamed rice.

You can try with whatever fish you like.

Estee Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick Spanish Red Review, Swatches, LOTD

Hello lovely ladies,

Today I am here with a classic red lipstick from Estee Lauder. Red lips are quintessentially sexy. I have hundreds of red lipsticks and still feel like buying a hundred more. There is nothing like red lipstick. So without further ado, let us see how this cult favorite lipstick from Estee Lauder fared on me.

Estee Lauder says:-
An extraordinary lipstick. Creamy & seductive in color. Gives smooth, lustrous & shine finish. Rich & conditioning effect, yet soft & light. Long wearing with hours of moisture.

Packaging:-
A gorgeous golden case. It is sturdy and you’ll feel like “Yes, I am holding a lipstick of 48$”

Shade and Texture:-
A beautiful warm red with a glossy finish. Very wearable and will suit our Indian skin tone perfectly. Texture is very soft and creamy. It is smooth and fuss free to apply. The rich, hydrating formula feels light and comfortable.

Pigmentation and Staying Power:-
It is incredibly pigmented; just 1 swipe for those luscious lips. But being a glossy lipstick, it doesn't stay more than 2 hours on me. Moreover, it is pretty hard to keep the pigment off my teeth. No matter how much I try, I have lipstick on my teeth.

What I liked about :-
  • A stunning color of red that would suit everyone.
  • Soft, buttery texture.
  • Glides easily.
  • Moisturizing.
  • Feels light on lips.
  • Well pigmented.
  • Minimal bleeding.
  • Stunning packaging.

What I don’t like about about:-
  • Pricey.
  • Not easily available.
  • Too glossy for my comfort zone.
  • Needs constant reapplying.
  • The bullet is so soft, it melts in summers.
  • Accentuates fine lines and dry patches.

Final Thoughts:-
This is a fantastic, moisturizing red lipstick. It glides easily, has minimal bleeding and is insanely pigmented. But I personally prefer something with a matte, semi-matte finish; especially when it is a red lipstick. The shine this lipstick provides is way beyond my comfort zone. Moreover, it starts fading within 2 hours accentuating fine lines and dry flakes (if any). When we are spending such a bomb on a lipstick, we would at least expect it to have a decent staying power. I feel this range isn’t for me.

Final Rating:-
2.5/5
